Applying For A Business Licence Grant or Renewal Online
Business Licence applications may now be submitted Online via DCI ONLINE SUBMISSIONS.
Online Requirements For A New Licence: Sole Trader (Caymanian Only)
- Duly completed application information (online)
- Filing fee of CI$75.00 (non-refundable)
- Licence fee as determined from the Schedule of Fees (unless qualified for discount under Micro/Small Business Incentive Program)
- Proof of Caymanian citizenship or status ( Birth Certificate or Status Letter)
- Copy of the lease agreement or letter of intent if the proposed business is to be conducted in a commercial location
- Permission letter if applicant works for the Cayman Islands Government
- Police clearance certificate from the place where the person concerned has lived for the previous six months. Local Police certificates may be applied for at the DCI licensing counter when the application is submitted or online via DCI ONLINE SUBMISSIONS
- NB. Police Clearance Certificates are required for certain specific business applications and for Caymanians living aboard.
Online Requirements for a New Licence: Registered Company
- Duly completed application information (online)
- Filing fee of CI$75.00 (non-refundable)
- Licence fee as determined from the Schedule of Fees (unless qualified for discount under Micro/Small Business Incentive Program)
- Copy of Certificate of Incorporation
- Copy of Memorandum and Articles of Association
- Register of Directors, Officers and Members
- Copy of Current Year Stamped Annual Returns if Company is more than one year registered
- Copy of the lease agreement if the proposed business is to be conducted in a commercial location or letter of intent of commercial space where the business is proposed to be carried on from.
Due diligence requirements
(With respect to all persons or entities with beneficial interests or control within of the business including shareholders, directors etc.)
- Financial reference from a bank or other similar institution (e.g. credit union) where the person concerned has maintained an account for not less than three years. (Non Caymanians)
- Police Clearance Certificate if the individual is not Caymanian, a Permanent Resident or holder of Permanent Residency and Employment Rights Certificate or has not been resident in the Cayman Islands for the past 5 years.
- Police clearance certificates are still required for all persons/companies applying for the following types of businesses: Child Care/Children Tutoring/Dance Classes/Afterschool Classes/Pre-School/Baby Sitting/ Summer Programs/Elderly Care/Money Lending/Accounting/Wellness Services. Police clearance certificates should be provided from the place where the person concerned has lived for the previous six months.
- Copy of the picture page of the individual's passport (Caymanians & Non-Caymanians)
- Proof of citizenship - Birth Certificate or Status Letter, Acknowledgement Letter confirming possession of Caymanian Status or Copy of Voters Registration ID (Caymanians)
